About

The Northern Ireland Assembly Christian Fellowship has been born out of many hours of prayer from Assembly Members past and present. We believe that the formation of such a fellowship will be a focal point from which to lift up our nation and it’s politicians in prayer. We will meet regularly within Stormont to pray that they may know Christ in all His fullness and that they may be guided with His wisdom in all decision-making.

The Bible says, “Righteousness exalts a nation.” We are continuing to pray that the will of the Lord be done; that righteousness and peace, mercy and truth would reign together in Northern Ireland and that all of our people would know the Saviour, the Prince of peace, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Monthly Prayer Meetings

Our monthly prayer meetings give politicians a chance to pray together, for one another and for the issues that affect our land. These meetings encourage politicians to rely upon the Lord and depend upon His wisdom in decision making and problem solving. There are many issues governments face that can only be overcome by the blessing of God. These prayer times keep all of us focussed upon God’s mighty hand to deliver and to prosper.

Prayer Breakfast

Prayer breakfasts are there to inspire professional people to live for Christ and have a vibrant personal relationship with Him, whether they are at home or at work. We always endeavour to arrange speakers that give a great word of encouragement, but that also inspire others through the stand they are taking for Christ in the world; speakers that can be respected for living out their Christianity, whether fellow politicians in positions of great authority or ministers of Christ who’s passion and hard work has helped to shape our nation.

Our past speakers have included the Rt. Hon. Dr Ian Paisley, Mark Pritchard MP and Pastor Jack McKee as well as marvellous contributions from many of our MLAs who faithfully acknowledge Christ within Stormont and the Assembly.

We also invite pastors and clergy, church and communities leaders to join with us in praying for our politicians and the nation. This enables us to fulfil the scriptural requirements of 1 Timothy 2:1,2 and 2 Chronicles 7:14. As visitors to the breakfasts have themselves testified, they have been uplifted to see politicians serious about upholding righteousness and living for Christ in Northern Ireland. They have been challenged in their own lives to take a more serious their God given responsibility of praying for their representatives and those in authority.

The New ACF Website

For the past couple of months a talented web designer and our new ACF Coordinator have been working on our new ACF website. It’s role is to promote the aims and objectives of the ACF and provide timely, informative and vision promoting resources to the Body of Christ, helping them to pray more effectively for the Assembly.

The Prayer Shield Initiative

This is an initiative we are beginning to enlist churches into a program whereby they agree to pray publicly for the government, our Assembly members, their families and the nation once a week, that we may be established in God’s will and righteousness.

The purpose of praying publicly, preferably at some point during their weekly services, is to instil vision and obedience within the Body of Christ to pray “for kings, and for all that are in authority”, not as the scripture suggests, but commands.

The ACF Charitable Trust

This ministry is almost entirely funded by contributions from people like you who are partnering with us to make a difference in Northern Ireland. Our annual expenditure requires generous giving from our partners. Expenditure includes part-time pay for the coordinator position and that incurred by hosting prayer breakfasts, an annual conference, regular meetings with MLAs, Church leaders and the Body of Christ in general to promote prayer for the nation.

Thank you for truly being labourers together with us and with Christ to fulfil this vision of establishing righteousness in our land. We know God is with us and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him and of those who insist on giving His Kingdom first place in their lives.
