Pray for the Robinsons

Friday 8 January, 2010

You will be aware of the headlines recently concerning the First Minister and his family. I would fervently ask for your prayers for the Robinsons at this time. If you have ever went through a time where you felt in desperate need of the prayers of others, then pray for them. The scripture says we reap what we sow.

Remember, there is no temptation which ever overtakes us except that which is common to man. The scripture is clear about what our response should be.

Galatians 6:1-2
1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.  (KJV)

Let us refrain from judgement, bear one another’s burdens and uphold the Robinsons before God in prayer. Pray that the Lord’s cleansing healing rivers would flow over them, especially Iris. Pray that their marriage and home would experience the grace of God and the richness of His healing and restoring presence.

I John 1:9-10 says:
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

When we experience any crisis in our lives, we should go to the Word of God first, not the news headlines. It would help everyone if we would bow our knees first, commune with God over a situation through His Word and then pray over the situation as He directs us to; regardless of how we might feel to react naturally. This honours the work of Christ in our own lives.

James 5:16 says:
16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (KJV)

Pray they would be able to weather the storm of public and media scrutiny, that their family would be sheltered from the media reports and find solace in the arms of Christ Jesus who’s mercy extends to us all.

Lastly, why not take the time to share your loving support for them at this time, not because they are politicians, but because they are people.
